2001
| Nine
straight years of fishing at Birch
Island Resort. The water this year was at a historical high. Mike and Wendy
Reid had their hands full just keeping the island dry but managed somehow to be
as gracious as ever. Due to the water flow the walleye fishing was good. The high
water hurt the pike and musky fishing, though. A lot of the pike were in areas
usually high and dry and therefore inaccessible to us. No one ever figured out
where the musky had gone. |

First, let's get one thing straight.
I'm just a little upset that no one would take MY photo with a big fish. I finally
persuaded someone to get a picture of me holding this stick so I could at least
see myself on my own web site. After all, I did so well that I now rate my own
"Perch Specialist" business card from Birch Island!

Here are a couple of the very nice

On occasion the smallmouth bass

Frank finally kept a musky from
spitting his lure. This one Kevin is holding came in on an ultralight while fishing
for smallmouth.

Gene managed to boat the largest
musky of the trip!

Clark just
had to prove that the musky are still having babies.
