Canada 2002
Birch Island Resort
This year makes ten years of fishing at Birch Island Resort. The water was at about a normal level but ice-out was only ten days before we arrived. The water was cold and finding walleye was a little difficult. The cold water made the pike fishing better than average and musky fishing was productive. Kevin returned for his second year (and possibly last if he doesn't quit outfishing me) and Charlie's son Mike made his first excursion to Canada.

Kevin (left) got going this year and caught a little better quality musky. This one that Kyle is helping him hold is 45".

Kevin with his second musky - only(!) 40". He caught it on 8 lb. line while jigging for walleye!

Shore lunch
Clark does it again. His minnow tried valiantly to fight off this walleye.

Shore lunch on the rocks. There's nothing better than fresh walleye!
